I arrived on a Friday evening on the fast ferry Fairweather to a drizzle of a ride to Liz and Brian's in Douglas, Alaska. Brian is a pal from a business partnership and the Ketchikan sailing squad. He came to Alaska to work for Alaskamade.com.. a company that he now owns. He is now one of the Juneau sailing champs and owns on of my favorite boats.. the Haiku.. a Yamaha 33 sloop.
So we relaxed and regenerated over the weekend.. he went sailing and I planned and blogged away.
I met up with the Juneau Tuesday noon club at the Baranof Hotel. Greeted by Pres. Brenda and fellow club Rotarians. The Wednesday I visited the Glacier Valley Club with Pres. Bill. Thursday I was up at the crack of dawn to present to the Gastineau Club presided by Pres. Mike.
All the clubs were welcoming and allowed me time to share my Foundation project with the full membership.
I was proud to present at the Glacier Valley Club a print of the "4Way Test" to Richard and Sharon
Burns for a very generous donation to Polio Plus and the Foundation (APF).
Visiting the Clubs is Preaching to the Choir here.. the Juneau Clubs are among the highest per-capita supporters in our District. The clubs were all very supportive of my RFAR effort and thanked me for coming and presenting.
So, for the rest of my time here.. it has been touching base with friends and just being a tourist. Great to have these connections in SE Alaska.
Tomorrow, ML and Sugar will arrive on the ferry and we head north to Haines and on to Fairbanks.
My blogger is not allowing pics.. will try a new set.
